Living a Lie: We Deceive Ourselves to Better Deceive Others
“What’s so interesting is that we seem to intuitively understand that if we can get ourselves to believe something first, we’ll be more effective at getting others to believe it,” says William von Hippel, a psychologist at The University of Queensland, who co-authored the study. “So we process information in a biased fashion, we convince ourselves, and we convince others. The beauty is, those are the steps Trivers outlined—and they all lined up in one study.”

Coincidence
Carl Jung’s concept of *coincidence*, or more precisely, *synchronicity*, refers to the occurrence of meaningful events that appear related but lack any causal connection. Jung proposed that these coincidences are not merely random but reveal an underlying pattern or connection in the universe, which he called the *acausal connecting principle*. Synchronicity often emerges when a person is experiencing intense psychological shifts, serving as a sign or message aligned with their inner state. Jung believed this phenomenon connects the external world with internal psychological experiences, highlighting the deep interconnectedness of mind and matter.

The law of cause and effect
The law of cause and effect is a universal law which specifically states that every single action in the universe produces a reaction no matter what.
Every single effect within our world, upon our earth has a cause, an original starting point.
All paths have an original first step and from that first step comes a chain reaction of events with further offshoots spanning out in all directions and so on duplication and replication takes place.
All your thoughts and your human behaviour and all your movements affect the entire universe according to the law of cause and effect.
Every single item within the universe is relative and that nothing is separate. Therefore if you move your hand, you are moving this space which surrounds it and that space is connected to all space within the infinite universe.
Therefore all inanimate objects of the universe are all connected within the same space and occupy that exact same space or mind, there is no separation and so if you move your hand, you’re moving the space which is connected to all things.

“The difference between bullshit and lying is that bullshit is constructed without any concern for the truth. It’s designed to impress rather than inform. And then lying, of course, is very concerned with the truth — but subverting it.”

“In a recent Ditch the Label study, we spoke to 7,347 people about bullying. We asked respondents to define bullying and then later asked if, based on their own definition, they had ever bullied anybody. 14% of our overall sample, so that’s 1,239 people, said yes. What we then did was something that had never been done on this scale before; we asked them intimate questions about their lives, exploring things like stress and trauma, home lives, relationships and how they feel about themselves.”

The School Year Is Getting Hotter. How Does Heat Affect Student Learning and Well-Being?
“Does heat affect student learning?
Yes, heat makes it harder for students to learn. Students perform worse on tests when they’re hot, according to multiple studies by economists R. Jisung Park and Joshua Goodman, among others.
One study tracked 10 million secondary students who took the PSAT, a standardized exam used to identify students for college scholarships, multiple years between 2001 and 2014. The researchers found that cumulative heat exposure decreases the productivity of instructional time—without school air conditioning, a 1 degree hotter school year reduced that year’s learning by 1 percent.
The effect was three times more damaging for Black and Hispanic students than for white students, that study found. A similar discrepancy was found for students from low-income households compared to their affluent peers.”

Cannabis Use Linked to Lower Rates of Prostate Cancer, Study Shows
“PC prevalence was lower among current marijuana users (46/145, 31.7%) and former users (323/1021, 31.6%) compared to non-users (534/1337, 39.9%, p < 0.001),” the report reads. “PC prevalence was lower among users versus non-users in the elderly (≥65) (36.4% vs. 42.4%, p = 0.016) and non-Hispanic white subgroups (28.9% vs. 38.3%, p < 0.001). There were no significant PC prevalence differences between users and non-users in the younger population (50-64) or other race/ethnicity. In the multivariable analyses, former marijuana use was associated with lower PC compared to never using (odd ratio = 0.74, 95% CI 0.62-0.90, p = 0.001). Current use was also suggestive of reduced prevalence but was not statistically significant (odd ratio = 0.77, 95% CI 0.52-1.14, p = 0.198), possibly due to low sample size. Our findings from a large national survey provide additional data to link marijuana use with lower PC prevalence.”
