You\u2019ll work with every<br \/>\ndepartment in the company on art, animations, and identities for pretty<br \/>\nmuch everything we do.<\/p>\n<p>Ideal candidates will be ready to<br \/>\nwork in a range of styles across various media, from printed matter to<br \/>\napp assets. Experience collaborating with a close-knit team of designers<br \/>\n is a must. Be prepared to own whole projects, which means organizing<br \/>\nyour work in a way anyone can use it.<\/p>\n<p>Please include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A link to your portfolio that highlights relevant design work.<\/li>\n<li>Links to any other work that you\u2019re proud of.<\/li>\n<li>3-5 sentences about why you\u2019d like to design for Tumblr.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What you\u2019ll do:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create illustrations and animations for product launches, app features, ads, promotional merch, and who-knows-what-else. <\/li>\n<li>Participate in each step of the project: ideation, Iteration, production, and follow-up.<\/li>\n<li>Work in Tumblr\u2019s existing in-house illustration style, and make it even better.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with the team, sharing in-progress work and teaming up with writers and product designers as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Present and pitch to teams outside of Creative, like Marketing and Engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Manage your own projects, working in JIRA and Slack.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with vendors like printers and event venues.<\/li>\n<li>Export various file types for production.<\/li>\n<li>Hang out with David Karp, CEO and renaissance man.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What we\u2019re looking for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 years of experience.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent illustration skills, both on paper and in vector form.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to depict complex concepts clearly and without clich\u00e9s.<\/li>\n<li>A master of most graphics programs, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and Sketch.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with motion graphics, especially GIFs.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to accept and manage feedback.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to work on tight deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Niceness, humility, and a fine sense of humor.
